This month our Food for the Christian Soul Ministry visited Miller’s Ale House.

Tour of the facility. This pantry is privately run the food is all donated. It is open to anyone who is in need mostly Navajo.

This took place after dinner. We were introduced to Navajo culture and problems on the reservation.

Mission team delivering water to the Navajo hogins. A number of families do not have a well. Fresh drinking water must be delivered monthly.

Serving food and playing bingo with Navajo elders. Gifts of food and laundry items were given out by the team.

After dinner games were played each day. Volleyball. Basketball and other activities. This game involved dipping donuts into a bowl of chocolate and feeding it while blindfolded.

The water is stored in tanks until the delivery next month. It is used for drinking, cooking and for the animals.

The children are screened for vision, and any childhood diseases. Several team members are doctors and nurses.

Many Navajo hogans (homes) do not have electricity. The construction team is mounting solar panels to provide 12 volt lighting.

Another construction team is mounting drywall inside a new Hogan. These hogan’s are being constructed for people who lost their homes though a fire.

St. Luke mission team at the top of Pyramid rock. A 1.5 mile 1000 foot climb. Fr. Andrew was given the honor of King of the mountain for making it.
