Missions At St. Luke

This Sunday following Liturgy Fr. Paul said prayers over some of those who will be leaving on our missions trips.

Next he blesssed them with Holy Water.

During fellowship OCMC Missionary Floyd Franz explained his new mission. After 20 years in Romania he is moving his operation to St. Herman’s Seminary in Kodiak, Alaska.

Garden Center Visit For June

Our visit began with Fr. John explaining Pentecost. He said Pentecost is the observance celebrating the
descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples of Jesus Christ after His Ascension. In Christianity, Pentecost is celebrated
fifty days after Easter Sunday, hence its name.

Awards Sunday

As is our custom, this Sunday after Liturgy we took time to recognize all our graduates.

Our church school staff and others that taught the children during the year were recognized as well.

We also recognized our coaches and participants from the Junior Olympics.

We were blessed to be visited by some seminarians from St. Vladimir’s Seminary who sang and celebrated the
Liturgy with us.

In keeping with Prison Ministry Sunday one of our parishioners spoke about his experiences working with
prisoners and their faith. We thank Lee for sharing this with us.
