Thursday January 30th, 2014 - Prayer of the week on Matt.15:21-28 (Sanctity of Life Sunday)

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord we cry out to you like the Canaanite Women. Lord Jesus Christ have mercy for we are all sinners. We are your puppies who have gone astray. As You healed her daughter so heal our nation, and those who have had abortions, performed them and participated out of desperation or ignorance. As You showed mercy on St. Paul the chief among sinners and illumined him with the light of Your holy Gospel so illumine us so we can be merciful and forgive ourselves as You have forgiven us. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Saturday January 18th, 2014 - Prayer of the week on Matt 1:1-25

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord, You sanctified the water through Your baptism. You were present when Moses sweetened the waters of Marah; present when he struck the rock and water flowed out. You were present when Isaiah parted the Jordan river and ascended to heaven; present when Joshua carried the Ark of the Covenant across the Jordan into the Holy Land. As we reenact Your Holy Baptism by blessing the water, so be present with us and send Your Holy Spirit upon us so that living water will flow from our hearts and we will be baptized with holy fire. May we experience that river which flows from Your throne in the new Jerusalem. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
