Monday May 27th, 2013 - Prayer of the Week on John 5:1-15

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord, Your works of healing have continued in the life of Your Church. The Samaritans were healed of paralysis through the preaching of Deacon Philip. The Apostle Peter raised Tabatha from the dead. When you cured the Paralytic, You told him to go and sin no more. You warned that something greater may befall him. We fear that something greater will befall us if we do not remain firm in the faith. May we use the gifts of your holy sacraments of Confession and Holy communion to maintain the presence of the Holy spirit so we can continually proclaim that You are truly risen and have trampled on death by death. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Friday May 24th, 2013 - Prayer of the Week on Acts 6:1-7

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord you sent your Holy Spirit to guide Your Church. As you instructed Moses to select helpers, you inspired Your apostles to do the same. Today we pray for our deacons; those who are formally deacons and for all doing the work of deaconia. We remember the good works of our retiring Church school teachers. Guide them into a greater ministry so they will continue spreading the gospel as did deacon Philip. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Monday May 13th, 2013 - Prayer of the Week on Mother's Day

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord You gather Your children like a hen gathers her chicks. You are our heavenly Father and because of Your love for us You sent the Holy Spirit to feed us, nurture us and show us the way to the new Jerusalem. You prepared a place for us by Your life creating death and resurrection. We ask you to look upon our mothers both the living and departed and bless them for they are temples of Your Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
