Wednesday August 19th, 2009 - Prayer of the Week on the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord we celebrate the falling asleep of your mother. She prepared for her death by living her life devoted to You. Because she was Your mother she became our spiritual mother when You gave her to us from the cross. She was a pillar of strength to the Apostles and an example of a true Christian. Through her prayers, O Lord, have mercy on us.

Tuesday August 11th, 2009 - Prayer of the Week on the Transfiguration of Christ

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have Mercy

O Lord You present Your transfigured body to us in form of bread and wine. Because of our sinful lives we cannot see the transfigured glory. Open O Lord, our spiritual eyes to see and our ears to hear so we are not consumed by its fire. May our sin be purged away so we can hear Your call and see Your plan for our lives. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit Amen
