Thursday October 26th, 2006 - Prayer of the Week for missionaries

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.

O Christ our God, the source of wisdom and Bridegroom of the Church, You called the Apostles to follow You and to become fishers of men, giving them authority to cast out unclean spirits and heal every disease and infirmity. You commissioned them to make disciples of all nations and to feed Your sheep. Send Your Holy Spirit upon dedicated men and women; inspire them to respond to the Great Commission and to serve You as missionaries for building up the body of Christ. For You are a merciful and loving God and to You we give glory together with Your eternal Father and Your all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen

Thursday October 19th, 2006 - Prayer of the Week on Luke 8:5-15

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.

O Lord You are the Word which is sown in our hearts. Open our hearts and minds so we can be fertile soil as You sow Your seed. Protect us from the poor soil which destroys Your word. May we be Christians of good soil who humbly and joyfully bring forth a great crop . We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen

Thursday October 12th, 2006 - Prayer of the Week for the Amish Children

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.

O Lord we stand in sorrow over the death of the young girls. We cannot understand the reason for the violence. We know You love the children and You want us to receive them. You said when we receive them we also receive You. We are part of Your fallen creation and we need their prayers for us. May we separate ourselves from those who hurt children and do all that we can to protect the little ones. We do not want to offend them and become one of those who are drowned in the sea. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen
