Friday, August 29th, 2003 - Prayer of the Week on Matthew 23: 8-9.

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!

O Lord You are the Word written on our hearts by the Holy Spirit. You gave us the written word to guide us so we can come to the knowledge of Your truth. We are so lacking in this knowledge. As we begin our educational program, we pray You will guide our teachers as they impart this knowledge. May we be like Mary who sat at Your feet and listened to Your teaching. Instill in us the commitment to learn so we can expound Your truth to those led astray by false teachers. We pray in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen

Friday, August 22nd, 2003 - Prayer of the Week on steadfastness of faith .

Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!

O Lord we believe help our unbelief. Strengthen us in the Holy Orthodox faith so we will not be blown by winds of doctrine. Protect our bishops so they will teach and expound the word of Your truth. May the church which you sacrificed your earthly life to establish always remain orthodox. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
