St. Luke Movie Club Report Annual Meeting January 2010

In 2009, St. Luke Movie club, part of the Education Ministry, continued its discussion primarily around movies that provided a forum for inspirational and thought-provoking discussion that led to discussions about Christian morals and values. A bi-monthly gathering of interested St. Luke parishioners (with the exception of Summer months), the group discusses contemporary movies in the context of Orthodox Christian meaning and values. The discussions are always led by Fr. Andrew Harrison, pastor. Most movie club meetings are held in private homes, with an average attendance of 8-12 persons/session.

· Movie Club is hoping to meet more frequently. Our first session will meet January 17th to watch Fireproof, a Christian values movie….a Christian relationship drama with a very strong message. We will pulse movies this year between new in-theatre releases and in-home DVD viewings.
