Coming Up: 18th Annual Hike For Life
By Mary Jo Werbiansky
First Corinthians 13 tells us that the greatest of the spiritual gifts
is love. One way to love Christ in other people is to serve and care for them.
The St. Luke Sanctity of Life ministry allows all parishioners the
opportunity to give love to unborn children and their mothers. We offer assistance in
the form of cribs, strollers, clothing, diapers, etc., to expecting mothers in need. We
also pray that each woman who considers abortion will realize that God's child is in her
womb and will give her child the gift of life.
An opportunity to share God's love with the unborn child and his/her
parents is only a few weeks away. On Saturday, May 11, 2002 (Saturday after Pascha), the
PASS Pregnancy Care Centers, with which we have a close relationship, will celebrate their
18th Annual Hike for Life.
You can hike anytime between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM on the Old Plank Road
Trail in Frankfort, Illinois. Register at Peace Community Church, located on LaGrange Road
south of Route 30.
Bring the family! There will be music, refreshments, clowns, face
painting, inflatables, and lunch. Mark Schultz will also perform an outdoor concert. Come
and join the fun!
