Previous Bible Text: Luke 10:25-37

"But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion".

Previous Bible Question

Why do you think Jesus chose a Samaritan as an example of stewardship in the parable?

1. Because Samaritans were thought of as being not so good yet this one had a better heart than most of us. LB

2. Those who felt that Samaritans were less in the Eye of God than they were, would feel ashamed not to do at least as much. MB

3. Because there was such racial tension between the Jews and the Samaritans. But Christ showed how we should set aside our feelings of anger or hatred and treat those who are different from us with mercy. It's easy to be a good steward to those we are in agreement with but much harder to write a blank check to help a total stranger ! KV

Previous Bible Text: Luke 8:55

And the spirit returned to her and she got up at once and he directed that something should be given to her to eat.

Previous Bible Question

Why do you think Jesus ordered that the resuscitated young girl be given something to eat?
