Wednesday March 26th, 2008 - Prayer of the Week on 1 Kings 11:1-12
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.
O Lord You gave Solomon everything - wealth, wisdom and an earthly kingdom. As
long a he worshiped You, he was Your type. He was tempted by his lust of the flesh and broke Your
commandments by worshiping idols . He became evil in Your sight. For this You split his kingdom
and he died in disgrace. Protect us O Lord from such temptations so we can be on Your right hand
with Your Mother when you come into Your kingdom. We pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit Amen.
Wednesday March 19th, 2008 - Prayer of the Week on the Sunday of Orthodoxy John 1:43-51
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.
O Lord You called Phillip to be Your disciple and he found Nathaniel who
proclaimed that You are the Son of God. You told him he would see angels ascending and
descending upon You. We give thanks for opening the heavenly realms so we can peer in
through Your holy icon. We can see Your divinity and experience You in the material forms
of bread and wine. We can learn about You from Your divine word and be transformed into
living icons who proclaim that You are truly with us and we with You. We pray in the name
of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
Tuesday March 11th, 2008 - Prayer of the Week on Forgiveness - Matt
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy.
O Lord You instructed us to judge not lest we be judged. You commanded us
to forgive those who have wronged us. These commands are difficult to follow so we pray for your
help. Grant us the ability to forgive so our offering of fasting, prayer and almsgiving will be
an acceptable offering so we will build treasures of Godliness. We pray in the name of the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen
