Wednesday March 22th, 2006 - Prayer of the Week on on Giving - 2 Cor. 8:9
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy
O MASTER, Lord our God, who directed that everyone offer to
You, "Your own of Your own on behalf of all and for all", and who repays us with
everlasting gifts; who graciously accepted the offering made by the widow according to her
means: Accept now our offering and place it among Your eternal treasures; grant us
earthy blessings so we may be generous and share with those who are in need. For blessed
is your Name, and glorified is Your kingdom, of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit:
now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Thursday March 16th, 2006 - Prayer of the Week on the Sunday of Orthodoxy
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy
O Lord You sent Your Son into this world to show us the way to the new
Jerusalem. You opened the doors so we could enter. We ask You to keep us on the narrow
path, keeping the vision clear so we do not fall into despair over our sins and the sins
of those who are called to leadership in Your holy Church. Send your Holy Spirit to guide
us and comfort us as we prepare to celebrate Your glorious resurrection. We pray in the
name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen
Thursday March 2nd, 2006 - Prayer of the Week on the Sunday of the Last Judgement Matt 25: 31-46
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy
O Lord You are a compassionate king who calls us to express our love
by being compassionate. You want us to visit the sick, feed the hungry, cloth the
naked, and care for all those less fortunate. You want us to find You in them by
alleviating their suffering. Grant the we will be found laboring in Your vineyard
when You return so we may be judged to be numbered among your chosen flock. We pray
in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen
