Thursday October 21st, 2004 - Prayer of the Week on Luke 8: 5-15
Let us Pray to the Lord.
O Lord Your word has gone out into all the world and You are tilling
the soil and planting seeds. You have invited us to join in Your harvest. We pray that we
will not turn away from our responsibly but will share our knowledge with those of whom
You have already reached. We pray for them that the light of Your Holy Gospel will shine
and they will come to know You as both the planter and the seed which is growing in them.
We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
Bible question - How do you see the farmer planting seeds in you life.
Thursday October 14th, 2004 - Prayer of the Week on Luke 7: 11-16
Let us Pray to the Lord.
O Lord You had compassion on the poor widow and raised her son. We
are amazed when we read about Your power over both the living and the dead. As the people
who witnessed this miracle glorified God so may we be inspired to worship You in spirit
and in truth. You visit us each week in the form of bread and wine mystically transformed
into Your body and blood. May the Holy Spirit which You have sent, send us to proclaim to
all that You are truly with us. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen
Monday October 4th, 2004 - Prayer of the Week by Metropolitan Philaret of Moscow
This prayer was recited every morning during the seminars in India.
Let us Pray to the Lord.
O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day in peace. Help me in all things
to rely upon your holy will. In every hour of the day reveal your will to me. Bless
all the people I meet. Teach me to accept all that comes my way with peace, knowing
Your will governs all. In all my deeds and words guide my thoughts and feelings. In
unforeseen events let me not forget that all are sent by You. May I help and encourage
someone in need. Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without hurting or embarrassing
others. Give me strength to bear the fatigue of the day and all that may happen. Guide
my will, teach me to pray and Yourself pray in me. Amen
