Monday, November 24th, 2003 - Prayer of the Week for Thanksgiving.
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!
O Lord Jesus Christ our God, the God of all mercies and bounties,
whose mercy cannot be measured, and whose love for man is an unfathomable deep; with
fear and trembling, we fall down in adoration before Your majesty, unprofitable servants
that we are. We humbly thank You for the blessings You have given us. We glorify You,
we praise You, we sing to You, our Lord and Master and Defender; we fall down before You
and beg for Your boundless mercy. As You have graciously received Your servants prayers
and granted them, so also deliver Your Church and preserve this nation from every hostile
assault. Grant us peace and tranquility, that Your faithful people may grow in virtue
and love for You, and may partake of all Your benefits, and so we will always offer
thanksgiving to You, together with Your Unoriginate Father, and Your most holy, and
good and life-giving Spirit, God glorified in three persons; and will joyfully sing
to You. Amen
Monday, November 10th, 2003 - Prayer of the Week on stewardship.
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!
O Lord Your giving is beyond all measure. You have given us the gift of
life. You care for us by providing food and clothing as You have done with the lilies of
the field and birds of the air. May we learn from Your generosity that giving is a joyful
experience which You love to see. Guide us as we decide what portion of a tithe we will
give. May it not be a burden but a loving act so that You will receive our gift and bless
us with every good and perfect gift. We pray in the name of the Father Son and Holy
Spirit. Amen.
Monday, November 3rd, 2003 - Prayer of the Week on stewardship.
Let us pray to the Lord. Lord have mercy!
O Lord You are all powerful and you have challenged us to put You to
the test. You said that if we give an entire tithe You will open the windows of heaven and
flood us with blessing after blessing. Help us to understand that it is in giving that we
receive. Let us take a step of faith and support Your house so that there will be food for
all. Grant us the faith of these little children so that we can enter the kingdom of heaven
knowing that every good gift and every perfect gift is from You. We pray in the name of
the Father Son and Holy Spirit Amen.
