OFFICIAL TEXT For the INSTALLATION OF PARISH COUNCIL

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

I have been elected a member of the Council of St. Luke the Evangelist Orthodox Church, Orthodox Church in America, in the city of Palos Hills, hereby solemnly pledge to Almighty God before His Holy Gospel and Life-giving Cross that I will voluntarily, honestly and zealously, with diligence and the fear of God, fulfill the duties of my office according to the requirements of the statutes of the Orthodox Church in America and the By-Laws of our Parish, not for the furtherance of personal interests but to the glory of God, for the welfare of His Holy Church and the salvation of my soul, remembering that I will have to answer for these responsibilities before my Lord and God at His last and fearful judgment.

I promise that I will attend to the cleanliness and adornment of God's Holy Temple and endeavor to promote peace, tranquility and brotherly Christian love among the members of our Church.

In witness of this, my solemn commitment, I kiss the words of the Holy Gospel and Life-giving Cross of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. AMEN.
