Property Team Annual Report January 2013

Team Leader - Mike Bauml

As is my custom, I would like to thank everyone that helped the property team accomplish its goals during the past year. In addition, certain individuals were instrumental in keeping everything running smoothly. Special thanks go out to Dennis Dandeles, George Evangelopoulos, Nick Liscowski, and Father Andrew. Special thanks go out to Dennis. He once again functioned as my right hand man. Whatever is needed Dennis steps in and takes care of it. Also special thanks go out to George. George has been my sounding board, advisor, and helper. He has been indispensable with his advice and aid in securing contractors and monitoring them re-guarding various projects. Likewise, Nick responds quickly and without complaining to any task asked of him. Father Andrew watches over the building and advises me of any problems and takes on needed projects without being asked. He also meets workers and contractors at the church to allow them access.

Also I would like to thank Gabe Sloan who came in and handled out plumbing problems and likewise Scott Miller who did the electrical work about the building.

Once again, I would also like to thank those you come out for the work days that we have from time to time. Their efforts allow us to not have to pay someone to do these jobs for us. Our next cleanup day will be in the spring to get the building and grounds prepared for Pascha. Please take the time this year to help. It can be a very rewarding experience.

HALL USAGE: The fellowship hall is available for use by parish members for different functions. It can be reserved by contacting Mike Bauml and is subject to certain rules and feast days and the approval of Father Andrew. Donations for the use are appropriate and are at the discretion of the individual. These funds go back into the property fund and allow us to further improve the property.

FINANCIAL STATUS: After the completion of our projects this year, we are moving more into a maintenance mode and as a result we should need less funding this year.

Team Projects Completed:

1. Fellowship hall was cleaned up by removing the old bar and unnecessary items. The New bookstore was installed. The fellowship hall was painted.
2. The library was organized and moved to the hallway by the classrooms.
3. Soffit, Fascia, and Gutter Repair. The front and west side of the building had aluminum soffit and fascia installed and the gutters were repaired.
4. Outdoor Storage Shed Purchased- seasonal items will be stored to allow more needed interior storage area to be utilized.
5. Heater installed in PADS sleeping area for more comfort and more efficient use of the main furnace.

Future Team Projects:

The following list of projects are under consideration and if and when they get done will depend in large part on the availability of funds. If you have expertise and can help with any of these or if one of them is something you can contribute funds to, please let us know.

1. The area around the glass doors will be tiled with ceramic tile.
2. Remodel of the fellowship hall. Finishing decorative touches will be determined and completed.
3. Exterior lighting – additional lighting for the front stairs is needed. After much discussion our best option is to place two decorative poles on the sides of the stairs.
4. Updating our security system and making it wireless.
5. New Stoves and Refrigerator – due to intermittent problems.
6. New refrigerator with freezer for Pads.
7. Additional foyer cabinet and new mailbox. The new mailbox will allow us to close off the office room by the glass doors and it will be used by education for storage of learning aids in a secure fashion.
8. New light fixture in church by glass doors.
9. 7 day programmable thermostat for new old basement heater.
10. Courtyard renovation and potential extension of the church.
11. Sink faucets will be changed to automatic activated faucets for easier use and possible an automatic urinal flushing system will be installed due to problems with it sticking.
12. Continue plans for expansion of church into courtyard.

This looks to be another busy and exciting year at St. Luke’s so please be patient with us during the construction phases and continue and if possible increase your support of the property collections. Anyone who has expertise in any of these areas or wishes to make a specific monetary contribution, please contact Father Andrew or myself.

1. Parking lot ownership: At this point there is nothing to report. With the parking lot finished and stripped, as long as no new issues come up we will maintain the status quo.

I look forward to an exciting year at St. Luke’s and hope and pray that we can accomplish the goals that we have set forth for ourselves. With God’s help and your support I feel confident that we can.
