Handmaiden Report January 2014
We have not had an eventful year in 2013 other than the Bishop’s decision regarding the Communion cloth being reversed. We have decided to stop serving the juice with the bread because we do not have enough girls every week and it was messy. We had a few weeks in which girls that were too short were holding the cloth so I have made it clear that they can hold the bread tray, but boys will have to fill in if there aren’t enough girls for the cloth. We have about 7 handmaidens and we will be training more as they grow taller. The white robes need to be checked out. Some need to be cleaned and others replaced. We still have to replace a rope on the bell named Eugene. I hope to get that done before it breaks completely. I am going to teach some bell ringing during Lent for people who want to learn.
