Education Team Report Annual Meeting January 2004

Team Leader - Aristea Zekios

"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."..... "All these are inspired by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as He wills." 1 Cor 12:4-7; v11

The entire chapter of I Corinthians 12 is exemplified by the ministries of our parish. Just as the parts of the human body work together in perfect harmony, so must our ministries mesh with each other to execute the work set before us. Twenty years ago a dozen of us met with the late Bishop Boris Geeza to discuss the possible formation of a new Orthodox mission. At one of our sessions, he asked us about education, administration, music, building, etc. With our small group of founders, we discovered we had every necessary tool to start the mission. Truly God had carefully orchestrated His plan for Saint Luke Orthodox Church!

Today, like the 5 loaves and 2 fish, the Saint Luke ministries have multiplied and spread to every facet of our parish life. This team work is a microcosm in the entire universal Body of Christ. I thank the Lord for His continued blessings. And I thank a great education team for all their sacrificial work to build up His Body!
