Annual Report January 2018

The 56th Annual Diocesan Assembly of the OCA’s Midwest Diocese was held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Archangel Michael church in Broadview, Ohio. Morning Liturgy was followed by a breakfast in the parish’s Woodside Center. Father Paul joined the meeting.

The meeting began at 10:00 am with Plenary Session I, call to order, presentation of Credentials Report, election of Presidium, Election of Secretariat, Appointment of Nominating Committee, Appointment of Resolutions Committee, and Appointment of Tellers. Bishop Paul gave his Address. Mr. David Batrich gave a Stewardship presentation entitled “Focusing on the Gifts of our Time, Talents and Treasures” followed by the Stewardship Committee Report.

The meeting broke for lunch about 12:30 and resumed about 1:30 with Plenary Session II, Credentials Report, Nominating Committee Report and then the elections were held.

Two clergy members were elected for the Diocesan Council and one Lay Member; one member was elected for the Auditing Committee. All members will hold office for three years. While the votes were being tallied, the Chancellor presented his report followed by the six Deanery Reports, the Holy Virgin Monastery Report, Missions Director Report, Catechetical & Diaconal Vocations Director’s Report and the Metropolitan Council Representatives’ Report. The Bylaws Task Force Report, the Treasurer’s Report, Auditors’ Report and the 2018 Budget Presentation were then followed by Old and New Business. There were no new Resolutions to discuss.

Election of new officers was presented; the meeting was adjourned at about 3:15 pm and blessing/installation of new officers concluded the meeting.
