Annual Report January 2014
Submitted by Lee Kopulos
A number of special meetings were held to get a feel for the problems related to the sexual misconduct of the former Bishop Matthias. After gaining all the facts in the case and hearing the negative presentations of a number of diocesan representatives, including this writer, it was determined by the Holy Synod that Bishop Matthias must go. His resignation was accepted in April, 2013 and a new Bishop Alexander was assigned as Locum Tenens (Temporary Administer of the Diocese of the Midwest).
We assume that a procedure for the election of a new bishop will be forthcoming and announced by the Holy Synod.
