Assistant Lay Chairperson Report - January 2006

Stewardship Committee

We had our annual pledge-drive in November and according to the latest count, almost all of our continuous pledging members and new members have turned in their estimate of giving for 2006. Thank you. However, please remember that our budget is built exclusively on the pledges of our members. Therefore, in order for our Treasurer to be able to pay all of our obligations, we must remain timely and faithful to our promise. We continue to look out our back window to the cell towers as a source of comfort or a cushion to lean on, but as technology changes, you never know what may happen.

Charity

St Luke is a small parish, but continues to support worthwhile charitable efforts in a big way as evidenced by the attached report from Karen Verderber. Karen receives many requests for donations and with Father Andrew's assistance, always selects those most in need.

Budget Committee

Bob Zubenko has done a marvelous job of caring for our finances and making sure that all of our bills are paid. He sometimes has to be creative, but always keeps us on the right track so that we do not get ahead of ourselves. The Budget Committee met on January 8, 2006, and it took some manipulation to come up with a balanced budget. This exercise proved to be an additional indicator of our need to be conscious of what we spend versus what we receive.

Lastly, there are many projects that Mike Bauml and the Property Team would like to see completed. Please remember your monthly building fund donation in addition to your regular pledge amount.
