The Eastern Orthodox Church continues the practice of using leavened bread for the Eucharist which symbolizes the Resurrected Christ. The sacramental bread also know as prosphoron is made out of four ingredients: flour, water, yeast and salt. The prosphora will be baked and offered by the faithful who consider it an honor and a gift of our love for our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
