Supply Ministry Annual Report January 2005

Prepared by Pat Dravillas

Prior to March 2004 I had mentioned to Fr. Andrew and Michael Bauml that I would no longer be able to continue the Supply Ministry and would need a replacement. Paul and I were moving from Orland Park to the city and the distance would be too great and the stores I shopped at are inconvenient to continue buying the needed supplies for the church. Storage is also an issue since we no longer have our own garage therefore there is no place to keep the boxes, etc. until bringing them to the church.

Fast forward---Detrie Zacharias has volunteered to take over the ministry! I am very thankful and grateful to him and will help him in the transition.

Since moving I've also begun ordering the wine and candles and having them delivered. As we're "aging" it's also more difficult to pick up and haul the cases of wine and candles---Paul has been a great help in that task! If needed I will continue ordering until we can work something else out.

The candle ministry should be separate since it is an ongoing responsibility to keep things organized and the candle stand filled. I also recommend that the collection of money should be kept separate (collected and recorded weekly) so we know the cost and profit of the candles. It should be a separate line item on the treasurer's report !

I'm sure Detrie will bring St. Luke's Supply Ministry into the 2lst century---possibly ordering "on line"---wouldn't that be easier than physically going to Sam's, GFS, Wal-Mart, etc!! Thank you Detrie!
