Outreach & Evangelism Report Annual Meeting January 2012

Prepared by Lee Kopulos, Chairperson

“We are the Church of Jesus Christ, the Apostles and the Martyrs!”

Bible Study Program

One aspect of our evangelism program is it centers on the promotion of the word of God in each person’s hearts so that they can translate it in their actions outside of the church. One of the ways to get this done, and the best way, is through Bible Study. We are now in our 6th year of Bible Study and our group has grown from an average of 4 people to an average of 12 and a top of 16 participating.

As in the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13), Christ tells us that:
? 1) Some will hear the Word but can’t put aside prejudices or ethnic pride;
2) Some will receive the word with joy but not get rooted in it and fall away;
3) Some will hear the word but let riches or materialism choke them from God’s word;
last 4) Those whose seed falls on good earth – receive the word and have insight in to its meaning with humility.

This parable is a true formula of church growth. Our Lord said to his Apostles, ?Those lost may be more than receive the word.? We keep a positive mindset in evangelism and church growth at all times.

Mission Trips

The YOCAMA Trip to Montana and New Mexico.

In July, 15 adults and children went on a Mission Trip to the Blackfeet Nation in Browning, Mt. We all worked in various capacities tearing down and rebuilding an addition to their Retirement Center or enhancing the playground with benches for the adults to watch which included repairs to slides and swing sets. Some painting was done to a barn too. A few of our people went to the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico rebuilding homes.

All in all these programs are very rewarding especially for the young as it helps them see that faith and good works go hand-in-hand as mentioned in James 2:14-26.

More is planned for next year through YOCAMA and the OCMC.

Church Guests

These are tough times in America for everyone. However ?in season and out of season? everyone needs the Savior. Since the crash of financial crisis of ’08 we have notice a fall off in the number of new visitors/guests that appear in our church. However, in terms of new members and marriage and baptisms the numbers are very good. We are filling our parish church school to the max. and looking for more space.
