Maintenance Ministry Report Annual Meeting January 2016

Submitted by Nick Lisowski

Our primary focus this year was on maintenance issues.

Nick is in charge of hiring the lawn maintenance service and the snow removal service. Dennis is in charge of the sprinkler system including start up, shut down, and maintenance. The current snow removal service has been doing a good job and has been retained again this year. A new lawn service was retained and we have been happy with their work as well.

The following maintenance issues with dealt with this year:

Father Andrew obtained the services of an electrician who repaired the broken hot water heater in the fellowship hall and ordered parts and repaired the dishwasher in the kitchen. He also repaired the light fixture in the church by the glass doors.

Dennis worked with the landscaper to replace the dead bushes by the cross in the front on the building and redid the landscaping in this area as well. Also he had the dead bushes on the west side of the building replaced. Dennis also corrected a problem with the elevator door damaging the wall by placing a doorstop. Dennis together with Bob Zubenko obtained a new garbage pickup service for us saving about 50.00 per month.

Nick removed the School of the Seventy bulletin board and cut and installed a new corkboard next to the book store. He installed the new icons on the side walls of the church and the mural of the Last Supper in the fellowship hall. He also repaired the air conditioning in the fellowship hall and replaced the motor in the heater in the old basement. Additionally he removed the old chalkboard in the choir loft and repainted the wall.

This year four cameras with a computer monitoring system were installed to monitor the parking lot and grounds. In addition to providing security, they allowed us to provide documentation on parking lot use in our dealings with the forest preserve.
