Maintenance Ministry Report Annual Meeting January 2013

Submitted by Nick Lisowski

Our maintenance ministry was extremely busy this year. Due to work issues, Nick was unable to devote as much time as he would have liked. Dennis filled in as needed and additionally we used the services of a local handyman for some of the projects.

I want to install the mounting hardware for classroom T.V's. The classroom hallway needs repainting and picture installation. The old basement needs patching and painting. A 7 day programmable thermostat is needed for the new heater in the old basement. The first floor hallway needs repainting. The basement utility sink needs to be repaired (hole in the side) or replaced. I'll contact the iron worker who replaced the original handrail in front for an alternative. Ongoing maintenance items, air filters, light bulbs. Submitted by Nick

In the past year the following was done:

Nick installed pull down projections screens in the fellowship hall and conference room. Also he purchased some tools to be keep at the church for use as needed. He also changed the furnace filters in the rooftop handlers and furnace. Additionally he supervised the hiring of our landscaping service and snowplow service.

After a power outage one Sunday it was noticed that several of the emergency backup lights were not functioning. Scott checked them all and replaced bulbs and batteries as needed. Also one of the dimmer switches in the church burnt out and was ordered and replaced. Scott also installed a light above the sink in the fellowship hall and replaced the lighting fixtures in the old basement.

The PADS doorbell and transformer burnt out. This was replaced by Mike Kincaid and Joe Szpakowicz. Our thanks go out to them.

The broken television in the old basement was removed by John Limberopoulos. It was he who also removed the old bar from the fellowship hall. Thanks John.

Dennis supervised the replacement of a broken window in the choir room. Also the front door handle and lock needed to be replaced and rekeyed. New doorknobs with locks were installed on the church office and Father Andrews office as part of the project to make the front office secure for use by the Education Ministry.

The Dormition Icon was installed on the back wall of the church. This project was headed by Father Andrew.

A safe for important papers was installed in Father Andrew’s office. This was headed by Phil Stamatakos. Consequently we were able to cancel our lock box at the bank.

Christine Bowen and Greg W. collaborated to change our electric supplier to NRG. This will save us approximately 70.00 a month or 840.00 a year.

Once again this year we had problems with the fellowship hall and sacristy bathrooms flowing PADS usage. The main culprit seems to be paper towels. These problems were solved by Dennis and Gabe. We have tried removing all paper towels before PADS usage, posting notes, and talking to the homeless. So far nothing has worked. We will continue to try to prevent and repair the damage. The largest worry is damage to the septic field which could be expensive.
