Lost Sheep Ministry Annual Report January 2012

By Karen Verderber

"For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls". 1 Peter 2:2

This past year Fr. Andrew asked me to assist him in following up on families and individuals who have not been attending liturgy at St. Luke Church. Periodically, Fr. gives me a list of names and l drop a card to those who have been absent and tell them that if they would like a call from Fr. Andrew to let me know. Then l pass the correspondence to Fr. Andrew.

In 2011, 15 families received a "hello" card and it was great to see more than half return. One of these individuals was visited by Fr. Andrew, received communion and had her home blessed. She truly expressed her gratitude that someone cared. l think we have to keep in mind that not everyone has an internet connection and it is important that we let those people know that we are concerned and care about not seeing them.
