Junior Olympics Report Annual Meeting January 2013

By Katerina Claiborne in May 2012 (seasonal ministry)

At this year’s Junior Olympics, we had 40 participants who represented St. Luke. The team brought home thirteen medals:

Gold Medals:
Michael Wojcik – Chess
Madeline Betsanes and Emma Hansen – Table Tennis
Emma Hansen – Shot Put
Katerina Claiborne – 10K Run

Silver Medals:
Emily Olson – Long Jump
Erin Laning – 10K Run
Anastasia Galinski – Checkers
Tristen Isom – Chess

Bronze Medals:
Ben Laning – Long Jump
James Nickolaou – Chess
Jordyn Laning and Andi Evangelopoulos – Table Tennis
Emily Olson – 800 Meter Run
Tammy Tsiones – 10K Run

Our team was relatively small, compared to many of the other parishes. Our participation was mostly in individual events except for the doubles table tennis team and girl’s volleyball.

We desperately need someone to head up this event for St. Luke’s for 2013.
