Inventory Ministry Annual Report January 2006
Diane Wilczak
Memorial Book: A memorial book now sits on a bookstand in the narthex
holding full-color photos with the name and date of the individual/family who donated the
item to St. Luke Orthodox Church. Pages will be added as items are donated, so that a
complete historical memorial record will be kept throughout the years, acknowledging our
sincere gratitude to those whose memory will remain with us forever.
SCRIP MINISTRY: Scrip Advantage
The Scrip Ministry produced less profit this year than anticipated,
and far less than profits earned the last two years. Sixteen orders were placed in 2005
generating a total profit of $314.10, compared to $729.30 last year.
In addition to lack luster profits, our scrip provider, Scrip
Advantage, Inc., is having serious financial problems, and indications are that they
will be entering Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The following scrip remains on back order, and indications are that
this scrip will not be shipped to us:
Burger King -10
Dick's Sporting Goods -1
Wendy's -25
Chili's - 2
Gap - 4
Olive Garden -1
TJ Maxx -1
Ultra 3 -1
The scrip account will be closed in January, and the balance will be
transferred to another St. Luke account. We will sell the remaining scrip we have on hand
and close the books for this account as of December 31, 2005.
I'd like to thank my co-chairperson, Sue Lisowski, for all of her
efforts in promoting and selling scrip.
