Internet Report Annual Meeting January 2013

Prepared by Mike Bauml

Our Web Site continues to be for many, their first exposure to life as a member of St. Luke Parish. It is one of the largest Orthodox Sites on the internet and continues to grow under Father Harrison’s direction.

We maintain weekly aspects such as events, the Sunday Bulletin, and the prayer list. The calendar posts church events monthly. The corner icon on the front page is changed to reflect the current holiday or feast day and under iconography you can find the icon of the day for each of the 365 days of the year.

We have an online store available for you to purchase items and we have sent items to others around the world. There is a tremendous amount of information about our church and our faith on the site and I encourage you all to take advantage of it.

The monthly events pages are archived each month and are listed by year and month. In effect the church website is a living history of our parish. Please feel free to email any pictures or events that you may wish to have posted to contribute to the fullness of this history.

Under Liturgical Texts we have posted complete text of many of the services you attend. Recently we have begun posting the Festal Menaion. To date we have posted complete texts of the Matins of Circumcision, the Nativity, and the Theophany. When we are finished with this project, there should be 12 services in all.

Sub Deacon John Segvich has agreed to help with his computer expertise to renew the site and help make changes that will update the site and make it more Facebook and YouTube friendly.

The internet can be a force for good or evil. I believe that it is our responsibility to do what we can to make our site a force for good. This is your site and if there is anything you feel we should be doing to improve it, please feel free to let us know.
