Fellowship Annual Report January 2009

Special Events – Nadia Doss/Luba Johnson

We provided refreshments for many events this year. The following are some of the major events hosted by St. Luke.

New Member Luncheon was held on March 2, 2008. The cost for the luncheon was approximately $800; $546.00 was deposited into the General Funds from luncheon donations.

Presanctified Liturgy dinners were hosted by volunteers who signed up prior to the date they hosted.

Lenten Mission Service was hosted at St. Luke on April 13, 2008. The event went well and was attended by 90-100 people. A Lenten supper was provided after the Mission Service.

Pascha feast followed the Resurrection service and was very well attended. Also a variety of foods helped break our fast.

Quad-Parish Picnic was held on June 8, 2008. Approximately 80 St. Luke Parishioners supported this event. The total attendance from all four parishes was around 220 persons. Even though we were drenched with rain and our activities were cut short, people still expressed they had fun and look forward to next year’s picnic, hopefully, without the rain. All expenses for St. Luke were covered by the cost of the tickets. After all picnic expenses were covered each church received $305.07.

Fr. Andrew’s 40th Anniversary Luncheon was held on July 13, 2008. This event was held at Nikos Restaurant on 7600 S. Harlem. 144 people were in attendance. Fr. Andrew was honored for his 40 years as a priest. Archbishop Job presented him and Pat Harrison with an award. A scrape book commemorating most of his life’s events was put together for him. On this day Maria Vrame was presented with an Appreciation Award for her services to St. Luke as the Choir Director. Attendees at Liturgy on July 13th were able to witness the ordination of Fr. Herman. Cost of the event was covered by the donations.

St. Luke Feast Day – Vespers for St. Luke Feast Day was held on Oct. 17th. Approximately 20 people were in attendance and refreshments were served.

Oktoberfest luncheon was held on October 29, 2008 after Liturgy. Roughly 80 people attended the luncheon. The expenses came to $968. $1300 was collected and donated to Floyd and Ancuta Frantz, Romanian Missionaries that were present on this day.

Christmas Eve Supper was hosted by Mary Jo Werbiansky. The traditional fasting supper was very well attended.

NewYear/25th Anniversary Celebration was celebrated on January 2, 2009.
