Evangelist Report Annual Meeting January 2013

Submitted by Caroline Potter

The St. Luke parish newsletter, The Evangelist, is published quarterly and mailed to parishioners, friends, visitors and other who have expressed an interest in our parish. The guiding mission of The Evangelist is to promote our church as a lively, positive, and thoughtful spiritual community. Each newsletter contains articles written by members of the parish providing both general and specific information about St. Luke, news about Orthodox-related activities, inspiration for spiritual development, ideas for more effective Christian living, and encouragement for outreach to both Orthodox and non-Orthodox readers.

Each issue is dedicated to a specific theme. The Spring issue discussed the Great Lent and increasing our spirituality. The Summer issue centered its topics around Evangelizing the word of Christ and was inspired by the Doable Evangelism lecture by Randy Siever. The Winter issue focused on Women in the Church and how women had an extraordinary influence on Christianity.

Besides distribution to parishioners, St. Luke's friends and our website, a full-color copy of each issue is included in the historical record of our parish. Anyone interested in contributing articles for The Evangelist on any topic should contact Caroline Potter at caroline.potter@aol.com.

I would like to thank St. Luke's parishioners for contributing articles to the Evangelist and for spreading the word of God to over 250 households.
