Church Resource Center (CRC) Annual Report January 2006

It has been another blessed year for the bookstore. We had more books, icons, cassettes, and videos than ever before. More and more parishioners are also using the bookstore for their spiritual needs.

Accomplishments:

  • Continued to add new church accounts with several Christian organizations
  • St. Isaac of Syria Skete, St. Vladimir's Seminary Bookstore, Conciliar Press, Light and Life Publishing Company, Christian Book Distributors (CBD), Regina Orthodox Press, Dormition Romanian Monastery (icons)
  • Two new bookshelves were placed in the section behind the display cases.
  • New items were added to the bookstore (magnet icons, cards with envelops, post card icons)
  • Some items and pamphlets for the "Grief Support Group" at Sts. Constantine & Helen. Those items are paid by SS C&H. However, copies are kept at the bookstore for any one at St. Luke's experiencing grief.
  • A list of suggested readings was distributed for Great Lent
  • Thirty "2006 Daily Reading & Saints" were ordered this year.
  • A whole display panel has been dedicated for Christian children books.

    Plans for 2006:

  • Continue adding new books, icons, CD's, and videos to the bookstore
  • Continue preparing a list of suggested books for different occasions

    I didn't make all the progress in cataloging that I'd hoped for this year. In 2006, I shall continue the effort.
