Director of Christian Education Report Annual Meeting January 2015

Maria Kopulos

Presently the Church School (2014-2015) consists of 60children and 10 regular teachers. Our staff members are: Toddlers/Pat Harrison, – Preschool & Kindergarten/Suzanne Kopulos, – Grades 1 & 2 / Cheryl Evangelopoulos & Lynn Betsanes, – Grade 3 / Maria Kopulos & Adolph Galinski, – Grades 4, 5&6/ Angela Tatooles & Diane Nickolaou, - Grades 7 & 8 (Junior High) /Aristea Zekios, - High School/Sub Deacon John Segvich, Else Tenneseen-Icon Education.

2014- Currently we have 60 children on our roster, we have noticed attendance is pretty infrequent this year, compared to the last few years. This year all teachers did a phenominal job preparing for lessons as well as supporting the needs of the church school. The classrooms are kept in great order, and I hope we can focus more on cirriculm this next year and discuss what changes and adjustments we need in order to keep up with the needs of our children. There is a demand for more assitance and support from the parents of our children, on a volunteer basis. I am compiling a list of what is needed for 2015/16 as well as a description. This will allow everyone to help a little and not be overwhlemed by too many tasks…as well as give some variety and new ideas to the church school.

Upcoming Plans for 2015:
• Lenten Retreat For Teens and Parents.
• Work more closely on each levels curriculum,
• Search for DVD's for rooms / education.
• Making sure that all teachers’ needs are met.
• Office Computer upgraded with Microsoft
• Concentrate on new schedule for High School Class
• Begin Strategy Meetings for upcoming focus
• Complete "Volunteer" description (for needs below)
• Volunteers Needed ; Snack Program, Team Teachers (3), Substitute teachers, Youth Director
