Additionally, Anthea Lukashonak visits the classrooms with monthly iconography sessions and Angela Tatooles heads the “healthy snack:” program,. Currently, our “YO” (youth organization) is led by and Cheryl Evangelopoulos and Maria Kopulos.

Spring 2009:

• Family Lenten Retreat was held on March 21, 2010. Theme based off of:"I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 The retreat was focused on “Light” and each class of children and adults discussed 2 icons (Transfiguration and Christ's Descent into Hades) and had lesson plans to accompany them. Everyone was able to eat a Lenten lunch together, and then the afternoon concluded around 2 pm, with a closing prayer. The attendance was rather low this year, as it happened to be during many children's Spring Break. So, next year it was discussed that we schedule the retreat within the first week or week previous to Lent. (for better attendance).
• Last Day of Church School: Sunday May 16th
• Awards Ceremony for Church School, Sunday May 23rd.
• There was a Church School Teacher's Brunch on May 23rd, to celebrate them and all of their hard work each and every school year! (There was also have a brief meeting to discuss the past and the upcoming year).

Summer :

• The summer was spent preparing for a new church school that began with refreshing start. We were fortunate to have newly painted rooms with appropriate tables and chairs for our youth! Svetlana Lynch has used her talent to create a wonderful environment to teach the Word of God!

Fall:

• The first day of classes was Sunday, Sept. 12th First day of classes were held on Sept. 13th.
• Two new flat screen TV/DVD units were purchased.
• A new library of DVD’s were purchased, donating our old VHS tapes to Fr. Herman for Sts. Peter and Paul.
• Anthea Lukashonak hasl continued to uphold the "Icon Lady” position for the school year.
• The Christmas Pageant was held on Dec. 12th. Paulette Valezquez directed the music portion, and all the teachers assisted in organizing the children. George Poulos put the program on You Tube.
• There was no church school on Nov. 28th or Dec. 26th.

Upcoming Plans for 2011:

To meet the spiritual education and social needs of our youth in order to keep our Church School program viable and growing.

• The Lenten Retreat as it will held earlier this year .Last year there was a low turn out due to conflicts in the students’ spring break schedules and the traveling of families.
