Spring 2009:
• Family Lenten Retreat was held on March 21, 2010. Theme based off of:"I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 The retreat was focused on “Light” and each class of children and adults discussed 2 icons (Transfiguration and Christ's Descent into Hades) and had lesson plans to accompany them. Everyone was able to eat a Lenten lunch together, and then the afternoon concluded around 2 pm, with a closing prayer. The attendance was rather low this year, as it happened to be during many children's Spring Break. So, next year it was discussed that we schedule the retreat within the first week or week previous to Lent. (for better attendance).
