Charity Ministry Annual Report January 2005
By Karen Verderber
In addition to St. Luke's monthly benevolence collection, there is an
on-going food collection, a six week coat drive for the Chicago and southwest suburban
homeless and the annual DCFS Christmas toy drive. This year, St. Luke's generous
parishioners donated 77 coats, 12 bags of groceries, 9 bags of assorted clothing and
sponsored 75 foster children during the DCFS toy drive.
A special December collection was taken in addition to the attached
benevolent fund report. The amount of $440.00 was collected and was given to the Evergreen
Park and Lemont Food Pantries.
*Charity collection for 2003 total was $5,469.50. We've more than
doubled our giving for the year 2004. Let's never stop giving!
