Feast Day - October 15th.

St. Euthymios is shown in his monastic habit without the traditional monastic Kobuk. He was not ordained to any of the holy orders and remained a simple monk all his life. The long white beard symbolizes his wisdom. The scroll he is holding proclaims his defense of the Christian faith against the Islam.

Troparion in tone 8

The Image of God was truly preserved in you, O Father,
For you took up the Cross and followed Christ,
By so doing you taught us to disregard the flesh, for it passes away,
But to care instead for the soul, since it is immortal.
Therefore your spirit, O Holy Father Euthimius, rejoices with the Angels!
