Feast Day - February 10th
Bishop Charalampios was 113 years of age when he was Martyred. He is shown in the Icon as an old man clothed in his episcopal robes giving the blessing to those who participated in him Martyrdom. He was subjected to monstrous tortures. They lacerated his body with iron hooks, and scraped all the skin from his body. During this ordeal he turned to his tormentors, and said "I thank you, brethren, that you have restored my spirit, which longs to pass over to a new and everlasting life!"
