Holy and All-praised Apostle PhilipThe IconFeast Day - November 14th. When Jesus encountered Philip, he said, "Follow Me," and Philip immediately obeyed, thus becoming one of the original 12 Apostles. St. Philip then found Nathanael and proclaimed "We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also, the prophets wrote - Jesus of Nazareth." St. Philip is shown in the icon holding a scroll, a sign of his teaching and preaching the Gospel. He was also one of the chosen seven Deacons and in Acts 21:8, he is referred to as an evangelist.
