Stewardship Sunday
Stewardship Sunday is the day when the Estimate of Giving (Pledge Cards) are collected and blessed at the Thanksgiving prayer service at the end of the Divine Liturgy. Fr. Andrew has been preaching about the importance of stewardship of time, talent and income as a way of "laying up treasures in heaven".
Father Andrew Attends National Council Of Churches Assembly
Father Andrew is attending the National Council Of Churches 100th anniversary assembly in New Orleans. Archbishop Dimitrios is in attendence.

Archbishop Demetrios opened the morning session with a bible study on the last chapter of St. Mark.
As part of the meeting a service was held in the Roman Catholic Cathedral for Christian unity.
Children's Sermon For November
The Children's sermon today was about Stewardship. Fr. Andrew used beans as an example of generosity. "He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully" 2 Cor. 9:6
Visit To The Garden Center
During this month's visit to the Garden Center, Fr. Andrew explained to the residents that when you rush through the pages of a magazine, you don't get anything out of it. We should take the time to look at God's creation and to give thanks to God for everything.
Fr. Andrew then enjoyed conversation and cookies with the residents.
